FAQ
The Plotmaster is a one-pass food plot implement designed for land managers, hunters, and farmers who want to efficiently plant plots in hard-to-reach places. Built tough and engineered for versatility, it combines multiple functions, and allows you to break dirt, drop seed, cover, and cultipack, all in a single unit.
If you're planting food plots for deer, turkey, or upland game on remote land, tight trails, or rocky terrain, this is for you. From weekend warriors managing a few acres to serious landowners running full-scale wildlife operations, the Plotmaster lineup is built to fit your goals and existing equipment.
Proudly built in the USA. We manufacture and assemble all Plotmaster equipment at our facility to ensure quality, durability, and performance in the field. We are headquarted in Georgia but serve landowners all over the United States.
The original Plotmaster, the first ever all-in-one food plot planting machine designed for ATVs, UTVs, and tractors, was invented in 1999 by Blaine Burley after getting a Natural Resources and Civil Engineering degree from the United States Air Force Academy.
The Hunter Series includes ATV, UTV, and tractor-mounted units designed for different plot sizes: Hunter 400, 500, 600, and 800. It was designed and built for hunters, by hunters.
Plotmaster units range from 400 Series (4-foot) to 800 Series (8-foot), compatible with ATVs, UTVs, and tractors. Each model is built with specific towing and power requirements in mind. Check individual product pages for full specs and hitch compatibility.
Hunter 400: ATVs and UTVs (500+ cc) and small tractors (<30hp)
Hunter 500: UTVs (800cc+) and tractors (25-40hp)
Hunter 600: Mid-sized tractors (40-60hp)
Hunter 800: Large tractors (60hp+)
Plotmaster units are built from rugged American steel for long-term durability and performance. The Hunter 400 weighs ~800 lbs, while the Hunter 500 is ~1,100 lbs, giving you solid ground engagement and reliableresults in tough conditions. Designed to work with ATVs, UTVs, and tractors, you can easily control planting depth and resistance to match your machine and terrain.
The Plotmaster is designed to handle virtually anyfood plot seed, from large row crops to the smallest native grasses. You can plant clover, brassicas, chicory, oats, rye, sunflowers, millet, soybeans,
corn, and custom blends with ease. Our Versa Seeder™ system with a reverse
auger keeps seed blends fully mixed to prevent segregation, so you're not
limited by seed size or type. The seed gate is adjustable to allow for all different
flow rates and seed sizes. Whether you're planting a fall hunting plot or
establishing native warm-season grasses, the Plotmaster gives you precision, flexibility, and dependable results every time.
Yes, the Plotmaster can handle everything from heavy primary tillage to light minimum-till applications, giving you unmatched versatility in one machine. With simple on-the-go depth control from the seat of your ATV or UTV, you can adjust how aggressively the discs engage the soil.
For minimum-till or light no-till, just drop the discs ½" into the ground. The six cutting blades create shallow furrows, the drag covers the seed, and the cultipacker finishes the job, creating a grain-drill effect with neat rows and excellent seed-to-soil contact.
For breaking raw ground, simply lower the implement fully and let the Plotmaster go to work. Whether you're
refreshing existing plots or starting from scratch, the Plotmaster is built to
adapt to each plot’s needs.
Absolutely. The Plotmaster is built to go where others can’t, from hard clay to rocky terrain. Its rugged steel frame and heavy-duty disc blades are designed to break through compacted ground with ease. Add the chisel plow, and there's virtually no soil too tough to tackle. Whether you're working virgin rocky ground or beat-up red clay, the Plotmaster is engineered to take a beating and keep performing for decades.
The seed distribution system uses a 12-volt electric motor, which connects directly to your ATV, UTV, or tractor battery. The rest
of the system is mechanical and tow-driven. There are no PTOs required.
A calibration chart is included in your owner’s manual and quick reference in the seedbox. You’ll set the seed flow rate based on the type of seed and speed of travel. Always test on a short row before hitting the field.
The Plotmaster is built tough and designed to be low maintenance. It features sealed bearings throughout, so the only regular upkeep is to grease the cultipacker fittings at the end of each season. For best
results, rinse off dirt and debris after use and store the unit under cover to
protect it from the elements. With basic care, your Plotmaster will deliver
reliable performance for decades to come.
